Through the generosity of recent exhibiting artist, Jennifer Ireland, The New Gallery is pleased to facilitate the auctioning of her artwork, the wind’s twelve quarters. All proceeds from this auction will be donated to the Calgary Black Empowerment Fund.
the wind’s twelve quarters is a vibrant four-panel series made from locally sourced, natural wools that are hand-dyed using environmentally sensitive pigments. This work is “conceptually inspired by bell curves and statistical analyses of growth patterns in nature,” and “expands to encompass the unpredictable constraints and reciprocity of sharing and giving that occurs between neighbours and symbiotes.” This work was shown as part of in the long grass like the ocean, where the ocean used to be, which was exhibited at TNG’s Main Space and Main Frame venues in spring 2020.
Each panel measures 18” x 20” and the starting bid per panel is $150.00. The auction will be live November 28 at 10AM MST and will run until December 19 at 6PM MST on 32auctions. Please click here to bid!
