Like a Moth to a Frame
The New Gallery (TNG) is thrilled to announce our 2021 fundraiser, Like a Moth to a Frame! Until December 18, TNG will be selling off our large stock of Opus brand frames. These frames were generously donated in 2019 by artist Arthur Nishimura, who was a part of the inaugural exhibition at our organization—then called the Clouds & Water Gallery and Visual Production Society—when we opened on March 15, 1975. If you’re anything like us, you have a ton of great art around your home, waiting to be framed… this is your chance!
Your purchase matters! All proceeds from this fundraiser will support TNG’s programming and our long-term sustainability. This is the time of year when TNG typically hosts our annual fundraiser and celebration CREAM. However, with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, TNG has opted to drastically limit in-person gatherings for the safety of our community. Fundraising this year is more important than ever—many of our other opportunities for generating funds, such as bingos and bar revenues from events, have been cancelled or are operating at a diminished capacity.
Plus, during this fundraiser, we will offer 25% off any frame purchased with a TNG Press print. You can see all of the available prints on our webstore. If you are interested in this bundle please email alexa@thenewgallery.org.
Frames are in like-new condition, have clipped backs, and use Tru Vue glass. We have a variety of sizes and styles including:
- 14” x 18” in black or silver metal ($25)
- 20” x 24” in light wood ($35)
- 22” x 28” in black metal ($45)

Purchased frames cannot be delivered, and will be available via drop in pick-up at TNG’s Main Space on Saturdays, 10 AM to 6 PM. We accept prepayment by credit card or cheques at the time of pick-up.
