Su Ying Strang is a 2010 graduate from the Alberta College of Art + Design, with a BFA focused in painting. Strang maintains her art practice as an active member of the Calgary-based studio collective, the Bakery. Her current body of work focuses on creating visual mind maps through a continuous stream of sense-perceptions. The works are then intuitively edited via the other basic methods of reason; concept-formation and logic. Outside of the studio, Strang takes volunteerism to heart and contributes to Calgary’s cultural scene by volunteering at a variety of artist-run centres, galleries, and music festivals.
