The Limits of Sincerity by JD Mersault
April 1 – 30, 2016
The Limits of Sincerity is about you or someone you know, or a version of them, or a version of myself, our shared struggle for existence in a city that seems to not want us. It’s about not being able to relate to anyone — your peers, your family, your culture, or yourself. It’s about giving up your integrity to work in the industry, only to wind up hanging in your corner office. It’s about trying to combine everything you love into a work of art and failing. It’s about discovering that something, even though it might be useful, beautiful, or comforting, was meaningless, and that truth is often only an instrument to be thrown away.
